and this is why we did it…

We achieved this for prostate cancer…

About Us

The “Thacker’s Hackers Golf Society” was created by Lloyd Pinder with four others in 2018 and now has 48 active members.

Unfortunately, Lloyd passed away in 2020 with Prostate Cancer at the age of 49 leaving his wife and two young children.

Lloyd was a major part (in his last four years) of the Prostate Cancer UK Charity. He spread the word for men to get themselves checked in every way he could. He often (when well enough) joined Jeff Stelling on his March for Men walks and from this became good friends with Jeff for his spirit and determination to beat this disease.

Lloyd also loved his golf and was often seen on many golf courses all over the country.

We as a society were devastated at the loss of a founding member and more importantly a friend and for this sole reason we started in March 2021 “Pints for Pinder.”

Pints for Pinder is our way to continue Lloyd's fundraising legacy. In 2021 a Core group of 6 people organising a day of Golf and a raffle in Lloyd’s memory. In the space of three months, we organised a golf day for 32 people with a raffle with the aim of £2000

Well, we were more than successful and raised in total, for Prostate Cancer UK, £9016.

This year we have done so much better…

We thank everyone that has been involved.
